Folsom Lake Pictures - January 25, 2014

I started posting pictures in October of Folsom Lake with anticipation of our winter season doing it's job to refill the lake as it usually does.  Unfortunately we have had had only a small fraction of our normal rainfall. Here are a few Folsom Lake Pictures from January 25, 2014.  The view of the lake is from Highland View where I live.  The other pictures are of the South Fork of the American River.  This whole area is normally part of the lake and filled with water.  The bouy usually marks a low wake zone for boaters.

I was watching a news story the other day on the drought in California. It is sad and reminded me of the drought we have been going through in Texas. I pray for you in California along with us here in Texas.

Wow...that is alarming.   In my usually "wet coast", it's also been very dry (snow pack not there and not our usual rain)...already hearing about concerns over the summer season.

DeeDee  It's hard to believe Folsom Lake is that low.  Let's hope the rain and snow come soon!

Dee Dee, this is just unbelievable.  Lake Michigan has been down about three to four feet in the last 20 years in our area, but this is absolutely devastating what you are going through in California!

I read an article that various groups are scouring lakes looking for long lost treasures such as a plane that went down in a lake decades ago.  I guess it is a great time to clean up the lake beds.  That is as positive as I can sound.

Dee Dee, oh my!  Maybe you  should visit Gayle at Fishawk Lake to see real water.  Seriously, hope you get some rain soon.
